This book is good...at a time specific time in one's life.
This was published in 2001 and would have been great if 20 year old me in 2001 read it. In 2020 I've got about a dozen other readings and a career that cover this book.
If you are starting out in life, or catching up on reading check this one out as a good start.
Some key points
- separate people and issues
- focus on interests
- come with options
- negotiate on principles
- with objective methods of measuring
Verdict: This would be a good read if you've never read influence or negotiations books. If you are a reader and applier, this is no valuable. If I think back to 2001 at the origina publication....this was probably amazing but in 2020 there are dozens of books on the topic that do it better.
