First impressions of this movie were not good. It has this 3d cgi odd animation that made me think it was going to be a cheap and cheesy experience. I am glad to say that I was wrong to judge the movie based on that. This is a slasher movie that as some pretty intense and unexpected reactions. For that I appreciate the movie.
We've got a comic book artist that has a popular slasher series. He and his crew hit the road for some cons and to also be inspired for the last issue. Well, life imitates art and soon enough slash slash. There are some uncomfortable moments in here that are well done and some moments that buck genre tropes. I look forward to Jay's next movie.
Verdict: The director went for it and I respect that. The final act falls off the rails a bit but it is worth a watch.
