The Lodge
Updated: May 11, 2020
Directors: Veronica Franz and Severin Fiala
Released: July 2019
This movie can be summed up as though a turd popped it's best attempt at an Ari Aster film. You can break down this film and yawnnnnn but I'll go back to the premise.
A dad is leaving his wife for the lone survivor of a religious cult. Then thinks it's a good idea to leave them alone for a few days in a remote cabin.
I want to be clear. I'm a dad.
This clown set back all dads two decades.
Jokes aside, I can deal with the premise and world that the director gives me no matter how outlandish but you have to have consistency in that world no matter how bizarre it is. This film does not have it for me. It's too bad as they could have made a really good film here.
Verdict: Dodge the lodge, son! I'd take 90 minutes of slapping myself in the face over this.
1 of 5 boots!
