The Russian Bride

Director: Michael S. Ojeda

Released: December 2019

This movie made me immensely uncomfortable for the first 80% of it. As the title suggest, we've got a Russian bride incoming to a reclusive wealthy old man living in seclusion. The tone and music let's us know this won't end well. From there its gaslighting and a mystery as to who is bad, what is the cover up, and what is going on. Everyone is a bit creepy and Corbin Bernsen did such a good job that you don't know what type of scene will play out. Is he crazy? remorseful? angry? loving? Then add in a young girl to the mix oof. Being a dad makes it hard to watch how other people may act, or treat kids. This movie was no exception. Finally, we get to the violence and o yea there is violence. Pretty practical and done well. Overall this movie had me tuned in.

Verdict: Watch it!

4 out of 5 boots!
